Making your own favicon
When surfing to our website, you will see a small icon in your browser’s URL bar. This icon also appears when you use tabs or when you add our site to your bookmarks. Making an icon like this for your own site is fairly easy.
Open an image editing program like Photoshop, GIMP,… and make an image that’s 16 x 16 pixels. Make the icon the way you want. You can save it as a gif, jpg, png or bmp. Once you’ve done this, you surf to the FavIcon generator from Dynamic Drive. Browse through your files and upload the image you just saved. Afterwards, click “create icon”. The generator will make an icon from your images. Upload the FavIcon.ico to your server and add the code that you’ll find under the generator in your code.
